When natural disasters strike, communities need clear tools to organize and take action. I was brought in to consult on ShelterSmart, a guide designed for that purpose. 1) I provided a visual assessment of the current iteration, 2) offered constructive art direction, and 3) contributed to the design update of the guide. The pdf guide is a series of worksheets meant to be downloaded, printed out, and distributed. It’s a build and learn toolkit and aims to fill the gap between community needs and the government’s ability to provide aid immediately after a disaster.
